Job Summary

The Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating product drawings, writing specifications and general drafting using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools. They will interface with customers, vendors, and all levels of the organization regarding drawings and specifications.

Job Functions

• Create models and implement design improvements, design concepts and layouts.
• Resolve product and application issues that may arise.
• Generate new or revise existing drawings and specifications for electric motors, components, tools, jigs, fixtures, and equipment layout.
• Calculates material requirements, compiles material lists, and maintains specification files.
• Interprets drawings and specifications using precision measuring instruments
• Process Engineering Change Requests in a timely and accurate manner

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 2 years of professional experience in utilizing 2D and 3D CAD programs.
• Able to use small hand tools and measuring devices
• Team player with strong project management skills and take initiative
• Ability to problem solve, use scientific principles and creativity to troubleshoot problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
