Job Description

The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, HVAC. This is a full-time, full year permanent position, working 40+ hours per week between the hours of 7am to 3:30pm. This is a grade E position within the AFSCME bargaining unit with an hourly pay range of $19.27 to $20.67.


Responsibilities:


Support the Maintenance Specialists in working with Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and other trades as needed.

1. Assisting with installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC equipment.
2. Operating a variety of hand and power tools needed for HVAC installation
3. Cleaning, maintaining and replacing ventilation systems
4. Following the instructions for picking, and delivering tools and materials, and supplies from the job site 5. Ensuring that tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and maintained in good condition 6. Completing preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and related equipment
5. Ensuring HVAC systems remain compliant with industry-standard and regulations

Requirements also include:


- Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.


- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis.


- Ability to climb ladders and work in tight spaces.


- Basic computer skills, including but not limited to email usage.


- Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).


- Acceptable National Criminal Background Check, commonly referred to as a fingerprint check.


- Must possess good oral and written communication skills


Education:

1. Minimum required: Vocational Tech School Certificate in HVAC
2. Preferred: Vocational Tech School Degree in HVAC

Certifications and Licenses:

1. Minimum required: EPA Certification in Refrigeration *
2. Preferred: None

Work Experience:

1. Minimum required: 6 months in HVAC maintenance/repair
2. Preferred: 1-3 years commercial/residential maintenance and repair
