Substitute Teacher

General Responsibilities: To perform duties of a teacher to provide continuity in the day to day responsibilities during the absence of the regular teacher.

Duties and Expectations

• Report to the school office to pick up required materials and assignment for the day.
• Carry out a program of study outlined in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
• Ensure adequate supervision to assure the health, welfare and safety of all students.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of all students.
• Manage the classroom and communicate to students the standards of conduct expected.
• Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses and discipline problems to the appropriate authority or as soon as is reasonably possible.
• Take attendance in accordance with the school procedures.
• Be positive and respectful in your interactions with students and school personnel.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Comply with the rules and expectations of the district and school.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information concerning staff, students and/or parents/ guardians.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned by the building administrator(s) in accordance with the school and district practices.
