An industry leader in restaurant and retail food distribution, Baldor continues to grow and evolve at a rapid pace, and is seeking a Full-Time photographer/videographer to help us tell the visual story of our products, services, customers and employees The Photographer/Videographer is a major contributor to the visual impact of Baldor and plays a critical role in continuing our perception as a premium food brand.
You are a creative individual who likes to tell stories through visuals and have experience creating artful and appetizing food photography. You're a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes direction, and enhances it. You're also a collaborative team player who can balance creativity with business objectives while managing multiple priorities with ease.
This role is for a scrappy, roll-up-your-sleeves professional who's comfortable wearing many hats.
This position reports to the Creative Manager and sits under the Marketing function. This is a hybrid role but will be expected to be in the office at our Bronx, NY headquarters at least 4 days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Taking editorial/lifestyle photography and video of Baldor's food inventory as it arrives to be used in digital marketing campaigns, social media, and print media
- Recommending creative direction for shoots, which includes styling and propping your own shots-including setup and breakdown of camera equipment, surfaces, lights, etc.-as well as storyboarding for videos .
- Completing post production work, which includes retouching and color grading photos, exporting final versions according to the sizes and specs required, as well as editing video and adding motion graphics and captions.
- Managing centralized photography and videography hub, which includes uploading images to our DAM for distribution and use in marketing channels, and maintaining an image archive.
- Food styling and working with stylists, chefs, and food experts to get the most appealing images.
- Working with cross-functional partners to ordering products for video and photo shoots
- Experience in prop selection, setup and styling
- Managing production for field photography (sometimes literally) at our supplier farms or other locations and vent photography, in-office and on location.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Photography or related field.
- 5+ years of professional photography experience, preferably for food, with both still photography and video
- A diverse portfolio that exhibits a range of style and technique, both in-studio and on-location
- Technical experience in still life and product photography, including lighting techniques. Must also have a portfolio that represents experience in food and lifestyle photography.
- Strong retouching abilities on a range of shot types, able to make fast turnaround times of multiple images
- Food styling skills and techniques
- Able to art direct and style own shoots
- Expertise with camera and studio lighting equipment, specifically Canon cameras
- Proficiency in applying photo edits using Adobe Software. (ie. Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture 1) and applying video edits using Adobe Software. (ie. Premiere, Final Cut Pro, After Effects)
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and as a tightly integrated member of a Creative and Marketing team, in a fast-paced production environment.
- Enthusiasm for food and food trends, as well as photo/design trends.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both verbally and written.
- Must be comfortable with shifting schedule at times.
