A high-volume operation is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to oversee daily pastry production and kitchen leadership. This role requires hands-on execution, team management, cost control, and adherence to established systems and standards.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily pastry production and ensure quality and consistency
Lead, schedule, and develop pastry kitchen staff
Manage food ordering, inventory, and waste tracking
Monitor and control food and labor costs
Support pastry menu development and recipe standardization
Train staff on menus, procedures, and expectations
Participate in daily kitchen and management meetings
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department standards
Communicate equipment and maintenance needs as required
Provide pastry pass coverage and ensure proper opening and closing procedures
Qualifications
Pastry leadership experience in a professional kitchen
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment
Compensation
Salary: $65,000–$70,000 , based on experience
