About Americans for Immigrant Justice
Americans for Immigrant Justice (AI Justice), an award-winning not-for-profit legal services organization founded in 1996 to protect and promote the basic human rights of immigrants, has a multicultural and a multilingual staff. AI Justice has represented clients from around the world and is recognized as a powerful advocate and national leader for immigrants' rights. AI Justice works closely with traditional civil rights groups as well as grassroots organizations and local, state and national government officials to affect positive change in immigration policies.
About the Children’s Legal Program
AI Justice’s Children’s Legal Program (CLP) provides free legal services to immigrant children, including children detained in South Florida shelters to fight their deportation. CLP also serves non-detained immigrant children living in Florida with a parent, guardian, or in foster care. Despite their young age and the trauma they’ve often endured, immigrant children are not entitled to free legal representation in immigration proceedings. If not for CLP, thousands of children would be forced to navigate the complicated court system alone, denying them the opportunity to seek safety.
