Job Title: Forklift/Janitor

Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and capable Janitor to manage various types of waste within our new facility. The role involves handling cardboard, metals, oils, and general trash, ensuring everything is disposed of correctly and efficiently. You will operate equipment such as a cardboard bailer and a forklift to assist in these duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cardboard bailer and move the bales as directed.
• Dispose of metals in the proper dumpster.
• Safely contain, remove, and store oils in appropriate containers with specific guidance provided.
• Transport general trash from the plant floor to dumpsters.
• Operate a forklift to move bails of cardboard and other items.
• Maintain awareness of the storage and handling of certain liquids such as oils and cleaning solvents.

Essential Skills

• Experience in janitorial duties, including trash removal and cleaning.
• Understanding and experience with different materials including oils, cleaning solvents, cardboard, and metals.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Experience in operating a forklift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Gauge experience is a plus.

Work Environment

New plant moving into Warren, from Oklahoma; does work with all major automotive including Ford, GM Tesla & FCA. Global automotive supplier of pump, valvetrain, transmission and electric drive components and systems. To support customers with new products for efficient hybrid and electrified powertrains, thry are opening a new technical center and manufacturing facility in Warren, MI. Adding in all new electrical; 4x lines of CNC Machinist for production are coming up, conveyors, carousel assembly equipment, a couple robotic weld cells. Machinery is moving to Michigan the weekend of Thanksgiving and production is on track to start the first of the year. This plant will have various machines - Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical, Welding.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
