Job Description
Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, serving the major markets in Texas with five building material yards and one window distribution facility across Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth and San Antonio.
The Fleet and Safety Manager oversees the safe operation and maintenance of the fleet and production equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards. This includes managing fleet maintenance, coordinating safety training, monitoring regulatory compliance, and promoting a safety culture. Additionally, the Fleet and Safety Manager will manage safety protocols specific to production, particularly in door manufacturing, to minimize risks.
What you will do
Operate safely.
Fleet Management and Maintenance
DVIR and Driver Behavior Reports
Production safety and training as outlined by the safety team
Incident and accident management
Enforce safety policies for both fleet operations and production, ensuring adherence to OSHA and other regulatory requirements
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the production floor, particularly for door machines, ensuring that workers are trained in safe operating procedures
Driver file monitoring.
Scan documents.
Evaluate and identify methods and procedures to optimize and streamline production processes.
Coordinate the use of outside trucks, trailers, and transportation services, as needed.
Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
Maintain invoice records, post corrections, maintain filing system.
Comply with all company policies and guidelines.
Supervise 2 or more associates (indirect reports)
Budgeting responsibilities (may or may not have full P&L accountability)
Goal setting & communication (directly or relaying from management)
Provide performance feedback

Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience required.
Experience Qualifications
4-6 years of industry experience / fleet and safety required.
Skills and Abilities
Strong administrative skills.
Bilingual preferred
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
Knowledge of supply management principles and practices.
Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications.)
Excellent teamwork & customer relationships.
Demonstration of leadership (all required):
