Summary
Supervises staff that conduct developmental evaluations and assessments for children ages birth to three who are suspected of having a developmental delay and/or who have a diagnosed condition that has a high probability of leading to a developmental delay in Cuyahoga County. This includes monitoring schedules, auditing records, training and development of staff, and troubleshooting issues. The supervisor conducts developmental evaluations and assessments as needed. Collaborates and maintains relationships with partner agencies to ensure quality and timely evaluation and assessments. Provides guidance and back-up to the evaluation team.
Experience Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities) required include:
1. Minimum of two years experience working with families and young children with special needs and knowledgeable about child development.
2. Minimum two years of supervisory experience preferred.
3. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Suite applications (i.e., Word, Excel), email and calendar applications, presentation software, and internet usage.
4. Experience with Brittco, EIDS (Early Intervention Data System), and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
5. Demonstrates expertise of Standardized Evaluation and Assessment Tools.
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment in handling information and records.
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.
8. Ability to establish and maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system and office procedures.
9. Ability to resolve moderately complex problems.
10. Ability to present information effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
11. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with the public and staff in a personable and professional manner.
12. Team building skills; organizational and staff development skills.
13. Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills. Must be self-motivated, proactive, and solution-focused.
14. Experience with other assessment methods, including child observation, parent interview, interpretation of medical or other professional reports as needed to evaluate the childs eligibility for Part C services and to assess the childs functioning in all domains.
15. Experience using both quantitative and qualitative information in order to form a clinical opinion about a childs eligibility and functioning in all domains.
16. Experience synthesizing information and writing reports that are clear, thorough, and professional.
Education/License Requirements include:
Early Intervention Evaluation Supervisor must meet both education/license requirements:

Credentialed Developmental Specialist preferred.
Must meet the requirements to become an Evidence-Based Developmental Specialist Coach.
Completed coursework in Evaluation and Assessment; Infant/Toddler Growth and Development; Individualized Family Service Plan Development, Intervention Planning, and Service Delivery; Disabilities and Risk Factors from Birth; Family-Centered Services and Supports; and Team Collaboration preferred.
Valid Ohio Drivers License and appropriate insurance coverage.
