Salary: $25 - $35 an hour

KTL INC, a leading refrigerated food transport company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our new fleet shop in Dekalb. As a Fleet Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of tractors and reefers, helping us to continue to provide exceptional customer service and uptime to our customers. Typical responsibilities of this position include:

• Performing preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections
• Diagnosing and repairing all phases of vehicle and equipment, including tires, brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, and transmission clutches
• Ensuring work orders are completed accurately and efficiently
• Assisting with road calls and emergency services as necessary
• Moving vehicles safely between job and work area

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• 1-5 years of diesel repair employment experience or combination of education & experience
• Vocational or technical degree in vehicle maintenance is preferred
• Appropriate mechanics tool set
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Intermediate diagnostics skills and mechanical knowledge are required
• Valid drivers license required, CDL preferred
  
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work assigned shift
• Be subject to a drug test
• High School or Associate's degree or Military Pay Grade of E1 - E4

It'd be great if you also have:

• Related refer trailer experience is a plus
• CDL class A or B a plus
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent follow-through on daily tasks and projects
• Knowledge of DOT regulations is a plus
