Job Description

Providence Staffing is seeking a dependable and hardworking Custodial Worker to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at assigned school sites or facilities in Brevard County, FL. This role involves performing a variety of housekeeping, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks to ensure the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to creating a positive environment. This is a temp-to-perm position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, including replenishing supplies as needed.
• Assist with groundskeeping duties, such as mowing, trimming, raking, and maintaining outdoor areas.
• Set up and take down furniture or equipment for events and activities.
• Perform light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or minor repairs.
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools, ensuring proper care and storage.
• Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or necessary repairs to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure environment.
• Adhere to schedules and complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning and maintenance techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Heavy Work: Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.

Work Environment:

• This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment is required.
