Job Title: Yard Jockey / Forklift Operator

Location: Statesville, NC

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Yard Jockey / Forklift Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently moving trailers, loading/unloading goods using a forklift, and assisting with shipping and receiving operations. You will ensure a smooth workflow in the yard while maintaining safety and organization in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Move and position trailers in the yard using a yard jockey truck.
• Load and unload trailers with a forklift, ensuring goods are handled safely and efficiently.
• Assist in the shipping and receiving process, ensuring shipments are properly documented and stored.
• Inspect trailers and forklift equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Maintain organization in the yard, ensuring trailers and equipment are parked and stored properly.
• Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to meet shipping deadlines.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies at all times.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a yard jockey, forklift operator, or in a similar role is preferred.
• Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
