Join to apply for the Web Designer role at BoxCrush® Overview BoxCrush is seeking a full‑time Web Designer. The designer will participate in the entire development cycle: design a website from scratch, produce a layered Photoshop file, hand‑code a complete XHTML/CSS template for client approval, and build a finished website from the template and supplied content. Responsibilities Design corporate websites from scratch. Produce layered Photoshop files and slice images, crop photos, optimize for the web, and remove backgrounds (clipping paths). Collaborate with client, sales associate, and art director to produce high‑quality custom designs. Build finished websites from approved templates and supplied content. Qualifications – Core Skills Advanced graphic design skills (page layout, fonts, colors). Ability to design and produce layered Photoshop files. Proficiency in slicing images, crop photos, web‑optimize, and removing backgrounds. Outstanding portfolio. Organized self‑starter who can learn quickly. Helpful Skills – Not Required Expert XHTML/CSS hand‑coding. Strong understanding of valid XHTML and complex CSS relationships. Knowledge of table‑less layout for cross‑browser support. Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, or MooTools. Familiarity with programming languages such as .NET. Ability to build rollover navigation from unordered lists. Understand and manipulate Dreamweaver templates, library items, check‑in/check‑out process. Understanding of skinning content management systems (Sitefinity, WordPress, Drupal, DNN, etc.). Compensation And Benefits Salary based on knowledge and experience. Two weeks of paid vacation per year, up to two additional weeks of company‑scheduled paid time off, and paid holidays that correspond with most school calendars. 401(k) with a matching contribution of up to 4% (after one year of full‑time employment).
