• Post-operative and early ambulation experience
• No experience with titrating drips required

Description: The unit comprises 30 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 during days and 1:5-6 during nights. Common diagnoses include total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, and abdominal surgeries. Experience with hemo hemovacs, JP drains, colostomies, and bariatrics is beneficial. Charge nurses are present on each shift, with occasional assignments during nights. Patient care technicians are available with a ratio of 1:12. RNs typically troubleshoot respiratory therapies but do not manage treatments. Remote tele packs and monitor technicians assist with reading and interpreting strips. RNs are not required to read their own telemetry strips. Shifts follow a 0700-1930 and 1900-0730 schedule, with management making the schedule. A weekend commitment is required every other week, with holidays as needed. RNs may float to other medical and telemetry areas. Bedside shift reporting is expected as part of the daily routine. A close-knit culture characterizes the work environment. RTO requests must be submitted upfront, with limited approval for additional requests.
