This is a newly created position designed to support the growth of our Self-Perform team and represents a unique opportunity to set the tone for how we identify, assess, and hire top qualified talent for our in-house skilled trades workforce. The Technical Recruiter will play a key role in supporting the hiring needs of our Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Trades teams, ensuring we bring on skilled and qualified trade-level candidates in alignment with our company's Mission, Vision, and Values.

This position plays a critical role in the candidate selection process and works closely with trade supervisors (Electrical, Mechanical, & Building Trades), and department leadership to evaluate technical skill, cultural fit, and long-term potential within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and evaluate hands-on skills tests, basic math, and reading comprehension assessments to determine candidate proficiency and readiness for hire in conjunction with trade Superintendents.
  • Provide informed hiring recommendations based on candidate assessments (technical skill, experience, and test results).
  • Maintain detailed and accurate candidate records within our Applicant Tracking System, iSolved, in compliance with internal policies and federal contracting requirements.
  • Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of qualified trades candidates through community outreach, job fairs, technical schools, and industry networks.
  • Uphold and promote RQ's values in every candidate interaction, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Ensure recruiting practices are consistent with OFCCP, EEO, and federal contractor regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience supporting the technical vetting of candidates (construction industry preferred).
  • Experience administering or evaluating hands-on skills assessments, reading/math aptitude tests, or similar tools highly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to assess candidate qualifications beyond a resume.
  • Working knowledge of ATS platforms; prior experience with federal contractor compliance (EEOC, OFCCP) is a plus.
  • Ability to travel between the Jacksonville office (Near Baptist South), and our Logistics Yard (North Jax-32226) for on-site candidate assessments or hiring events. May occasionally travel to regional job sites as needed in FL & GA.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education or certifications in HR, trades, or related fields preferred.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, gender (including gender identity and gender expression), religion (all aspects of religious beliefs, observance or practice, including religious dress or grooming practices) marital status, registered domestic partner status, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition (including cancer or a record or history of cancer, and genetic characteristics), sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or related medical condition), genetic information, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other basis or status protected by federal, state, or local law or ordinance or regulation.

All candidates considered for hire must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire. Additionally, all candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).
