Located East of Tucson
Paying $70k.
Hours - 7:30am-4:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP standards.
Oversee general ledger functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
Manage the accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax reporting requirements.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Contribute to the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Provide insightful variance analysis and interpret financial data to support informed decision-making.
Assist with cash flow management by forecasting and monitoring liquidity to optimize financial health.
Job Costing & Project Accounting
Maintain precise job costing records and ensure accurate reporting on project profitability.
Collaborate with project managers to track project performance, including managing change orders and controlling costs.
Prepare work-in-progress (WIP) reports and analyze project margins to enhance financial oversight.
Compliance & Audit
Assist with annual audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth review processes.
Support the continuous improvement of internal controls and financial policies.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and company policies.
Process Improvement & Leadership
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy across functions.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering professional growth and team collaboration.
Work cross-functionally with operations, project management, and executive leadership to align financial strategies with business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or in-progress CPA preferred)
3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the construction, contracting, or service industries.
Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including percentage-of-completion (PoC) and WIP reporting.
Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (experience with Sage 300, Viewpoint, or QuickBooks is a plus).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
