Sr Motion Graphic Designer - NBC Sports (Live Sports On Air Graphics) Job Description The NBC Sports On Air Graphics Team is seeking a freelance full‑time staff broadcast motion graphic designer to support a rapidly growing portfolio of live sports properties and studio shows. The role involves hands‑on production of ground‑up broadcast motion design work, updating existing elements and templates for properties such as Sunday Night Football, NBA, Premier League and college football. Everyday work will be performed in After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Cinema 4D. Collaboration with a tight group of sports design creatives and a ‘get‑to‑air’ urgency are essential. Responsibilities Work closely with the Emmy‑awarded NBC Sports Creative team Create graphic and animated elements including in‑game insert and interstitial graphics, show packages, opens and titles Effectively communicate concepts and ideas to the Art Director and design team Able to work on multiple packages and projects at the same time while maintaining consistency with the overall graphic package Interface well with multiple producers and departments under tight deadlines and short timelines Qualifications College graduate with a degree in graphic design or fine arts Minimum 5 years experience working at a network or broadcast design agency Understanding of the implementation of design elements in network television and live sports environments Passion for show packaging and knowledge of current trends in graphic design Strong concept & storyboard design skills Strong design and typography skills Strong understanding of the value of good motion theory Strong presentation and communication skills Must be flexible, detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven and a good collaborator Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects Extensive knowledge of Maxon Cinema 4D, including modeling, texturing, lighting, animating, dynamics, MoGraph, Red Shift, etc. Love of sports a plus Additional Requirements Must submit a resume/CV through the NBC Universal careers site Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must be 18 years or older This position is eligible for company‑sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement and other perks.
