Job Summary
This position is responsible for the preparation of exam rooms and ultrasound equipment to then produce ultrasonic recordings (2D and/or 3D) of internal organs ordered by supervising providers.

What you will do

• Complete provider requested examinations by operating ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the motion, shape, and composition of blood, organs, tissues, or bodily masses, such as fluid accumulations.
• Prepare patients for examination including the rooms and necessary equipment.
• Provide preliminary report/comments of sonography examinations for use by the interpreting physician.
• Review sonography examination results to make sure they meet facility standards for Quality Assurance before findings are released for interpretation.
• Clean, check, and maintain sonographic equipment, submitting maintenance requests or performing minor repairs as necessary.
• Document any incidental findings that might impact patient safety or patient care and provide that information to the interpreting physician.
• Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.

Education Qualifications

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to the patients ability to understand
• Able to operate Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS)

Licenses and Certifications

• Sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Upon Hire Required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification Upon Hire Required
• Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification Upon Hire Required
• CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification issued by American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
