Client Overview: Our client is a gas and electric utility company based in New York. They are looking to add a
Server Administrator to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $75/hr - $100/hr DOE
Position Overview: The Server Administrator will be working with computing platforms from servers, networks, storage including scripting for Automation. This will require overtime and will require travel to different sites in the Metro NY area. The ideal candidate must have a valid drivers license. This is a 1-year contract which could be renewed. Must be a USC or Green card holder. Individuals only no C2C.
Responsibilities of the Server Administrator: - Windows server/desktop operating systems, users administration, file system, software, and services. This will include various storage RAID configurations.
- Active directory management, including backup and recovery of domain and GPO setup.
- Troubleshoot DHCP, DNS, Routing, and Firewalls.
- Scripting: PowerShell, bash, ksh or perl for automating routine tasks.
- Monitoring system health and performance, able to provide statistics to identify bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts.
- Disaster recovery planning and the ability to perform backup and restore for systems, applications and data.
- Patch and firmware installation and management.
Required Experience/Skills for the Server Administrator: - The candidate must be knowledgeable of Darksite patching of Nutanix Hypervisor and components as well as other Hypervisors.
- Creating Virtual Machines.
- Experience with design and implementation of VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments.
- Hypervisor.
- Managed Nutanix clusters.
- Nutanix Administration.
- Nutanix Support Specialist.
- VMware Cloud Foundation.
- VMWare ESXi.
- VMware vSphere Hypervisor.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Server Administrator: - Ability to intterpret, modify, and write scripts and SQL queries.
- Automation script experience.
Education Requirements: - Bachelor's degree (preferably in Information Technology) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in IT Support.
