Company Overview

bWe are a United States-domiciled minerals exploration company with a focus on developing mines from mineral deposits principally located in the United States. We seek to support American supply chain independence by finding and delivering copper and other critical metals vital to advanced manufacturing, infrastructure development, technology, and national security. We use our powerful Typhoon geophysical surveying system, together with advanced data analytics from our 94.3%-owned subsidiary, Computational Geosciences Inc. (CGI), to accelerate and de?risk the mineral exploration process as we seek to discover new deposits of critical metals that may otherwise be undetectable by traditional exploration technologies. We believe the United States is significantly underexplored and has the potential to yield major new discoveries of critical metals. Our mineral exploration efforts focus on copper as well as other metals, including nickel, cobalt, platinum group elements, gold, and silver. Through the advancement of our portfolio of critical metals exploration projects, headlined by the Santa Cruz Copper Project in Arizona, we intend to contribute to domestic supply by developing resources that support industrial and strategic sectors. We also operate a 50/50 joint venture with Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) to explore for minerals on ~48,500 km2of underexplored Arabian Shield in Saudi Arabia. Finally, in 2024, we established an exploration alliance with BHP Mineral Resources Inc. (BHP), a subsidiary of BHP Group Limited, to search for critical minerals in the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Attendance, participation, and demonstration of leadership and stewardship in daily toolbox meetings and safety and operational planning sessions with site management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Geology Manager with ensuring the safe and efficient operation of ongoing development and operational responsibilities for the underground mining program.
• Responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of underground systems and processes for underground mine development, including, but not limited to, underground mapping, grade control sampling programs, volumetric surveying programs using drones, monitoring of underground sample points, QAQC of sampling values, and the accurate reporting of sample values for periodic reporting and reconciliation.
• Analyzing geological and structural data to update regional 3D geological models to a mine?scale geological model and deliver digital geologic data to multiple stakeholders.
• Track key performance indicators and provide management with regular project and objective updates for review and reporting purposes.
• Perform and/or assist with routine and ongoing supervision and training to direct reports, including, but not limited to, core logging, sampling, field tasks, ore deposit knowledge, and underground geological mapping and data analysis for both grade control and geotechnical evaluation.
• Responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of a geologic database and QAQC of data entry to ensure accuracy of information delivered to all stakeholders.
• Responsible for assisting the Geology Manager in creating an annual departmental budget, tracking the budget, and ensuring compliance with the budget.
• Manage direct reports effectively and safely in a construction and underground environment to meet project tasks and objectives.

Skills and Experience Required

• Secondary or tertiary degree in Geology from an accredited university
• Minimum of 7 years of underground operations required, 10 years preferred
• Demonstrated ability to engage, collaborate, and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Mine to mill reconciliation reporting, additional reconciliation reporting as required
• Experience working base or precious metals required, in copper advantageous
• Underground bulk tonnage operations experience preferred
• Experience and decline development, as well as road header
• Experience with box cut development preferred
• Prior experience leading a team of technical professionals
• Proficiency and/or familiarity with various geological and data management software systems, such as Deswik, MX Deposit, and Datamine
• Eagerness to implement new technologies and solutions in daily workflows
• Authorization to work lawfully and credibly within the USA and/or Canada without sponsorship from Ivanhoe Electric is required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience in writing general and technical project correspondence
