Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and testing electrical control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment. This position requires on-site work and offers no remote option.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical design process and oversee programmable logic controller (PLC) and Motion Control programming and testing.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the manufacturing engineering team, ensuring adherence to engineering standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues on the production floor, adjusting parameters and documenting procedures as required.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to develop assembly, testing, and design reviews on electronic control heads.
  • Produce comprehensive project documentation, including engineering prints, supplier communications, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Maintain and enhance electrical control systems on production equipment, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
  • Manage projects from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technologies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing, programming, and testing electrical control systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in PLC and Motion Control programming, testing, and debugging, especially with Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLCs.
  • Experience in developing HMI, PLC, and Vision System programs from start to finish is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in electrical engineering design tools, including power distribution, testing, and data collection equipment.
  • Strong ability to design, build, evaluate, and test industrial electrical circuits and components.
  • Familiarity with Keyence Vision, Turck HMIs, IAI Linear Actuators, and Fanuc 6-axis robots is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical controls systems.
  • Solid understanding of mechanics and basic mechanical skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills and proficiency in reading and creating schematics.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of professionals.
  • High degree of flexibility and creativity, coupled with strong analytical and technical expertise.
