Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector with expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation to join our fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will ensure that all fabricated components and assemblies meet company and customer quality standards through thorough inspections, precise measurements, and detailed documentation.

About the Role - Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of fabricated metal components using precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.
• Interpret and apply GD&T principles to inspect parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Program and operate CMM equipment to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product compliance.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Identify and report non-conformances, collaborating with production and engineering teams to determine corrective actions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Ensure adherence to quality control procedures, industry standards, and company policies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
• Assist in calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment.

Qualifications - Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in CMM operation and programming.
• Experience with various precision measuring instruments.
• Understanding of fabrication processes, welding, and machining operations.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems is a plus.
