Project Accountant

Job Title: Project Accountant
Job Location: Etowah, TN
Base Salary: $45K-$65K
Requirements: 3+ years of accounting experience with a construction company, work with government contracts required. 

Position Overview:
The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with government contracts, and effective coordination with project managers. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and project management within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial accuracy and alignment with project goals
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including project cost reports, profit and loss statements, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with government contracts and regulations
• Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and support decision-making
• Monitor project expenditures and cash flow to ensure financial health
• Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for insurance and bonding purposes
• Utilize Sage 300 and Foundation software for financial tracking and reporting
• Support audits and provide necessary documentation as required.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with government contracts and compliance
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage 300 and Foundation
