Job Description

The Production Manager leads a team to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacture of high-quality products. As a member of the plant's Leadership Team, this role drives operational excellence, employee engagement, and continuous improvement while aligning with organizational strategies and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead safety initiatives to foster a zero-injury culture through audits, training, hazard recognition, and compliance with all safety regulations and programs.
  • Develop and manage talent by setting clear expectations, conducting performance reviews, coaching for growth, and ensuring succession planning.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across departments to align goals, share best practices, and support plant-wide initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Manage daily operations by setting and tracking KPIs, optimizing labor and resources, and ensuring consistent execution of production plans.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating waste, standardizing work processes, and applying Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ensure quality and compliance by overseeing product standards, managing quality systems, and ensuring adherence to environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote customer focus by building strong relationships, understanding customer needs, and ensuring timely delivery of defect-free products.
  • Support strategic initiatives by contributing to plant-level planning, budgeting, and long-term operational improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Engineering field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in continuous operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Experience with Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and behavior-based safety programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TPM experience and background in process or control engineering.
  • Experience with industrial processing equipment (e.g., evaporators, centrifuges, boilers).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
