Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Coordinate and prioritize printing projects according to deadlines and client requirements.

  • Develop production schedules and timelines for each project, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.

  • Monitor project progress and address any issues or delays to ensure timely delivery.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor printing staff, including graphic designers, prepress technicians, press operators, and bindery workers.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to promote professional development.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of printed materials.

  • Conduct regular inspections of printed samples to verify print quality and adherence to specifications.

  • Address any quality issues or concerns promptly, working closely with production staff to resolve them.

Vendor Management:

  • Identify and negotiate contracts with printing vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.

  • Coordinate with external vendors to obtain quotes, place orders, and track deliveries.

  • Evaluate vendor performance and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable service and timely delivery.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Develop and manage budgets for printing projects, ensuring that costs are kept within approved limits.

  • Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or service.

  • Track project expenditures and provide regular reports to management on budget performance.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Stay informed about advancements in printing technology and industry trends.

  • Recommend and implement new technologies or processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance print quality.

  • Train staff on the use of new equipment or software systems to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Printing Management, Graphic Arts, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in print production management, with a strong understanding of printing processes and technologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Bonus if proficient in print production software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software, and digital printing equipment.
  • Knowledge of printing industry standards and regulations, including color management, file formats, and prepress requirements.
  • The Print Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of print production facilities and the successful execution of printing projects. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and client-focused communication skills to deliver high-quality printed materials that meet or exceed client expectations.
