Our client, a highly respected national consulting and financial services firm, is seeking a Principal, Business Valuation Services to drive growth and lead their valuation practice. This is a unique opportunity based in Baltimore County , offering the potential to purchase an existing book of business ($500K+) or leverage a proven track record of business development to expand the practice. About the Role: The Principal will be responsible for managing and executing complex business valuation engagements across diverse industries while providing high-level financial insights and strategic recommendations to clients. This senior leader will play a pivotal role in shaping the valuation practice, mentoring a team , and driving revenue growth. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage business valuation engagements across multiple industries. Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, including DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and asset-based approaches . Develop financial models and valuation reports in accordance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines (ASC 805, ASC 350, IRC 409A, Fair Value Measurement). Provide strategic advisory on valuation methodologies, financial projections, and business performance drivers. Oversee client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery and strategic insights that align with business objectives. Stay ahead of market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to enhance the firm's valuation capabilities. Mentor and develop a team of valuation professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth . Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field ( MBA or Master's preferred ). 10+ years of experience in business valuation, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field. CFA, ASA, ABV, or CVA certification strongly preferred. Proven track record of revenue generation and business development. Expertise in valuation methodologies, financial modeling, and financial statement analysis . Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong communication and presentation abilities with a demonstrated history of client engagement and leadership . Ability to manage multiple projects effectively under tight deadlines.
