Pipe Fitter Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Irving, TX
Schedule: 1st shift; 6am - finish
Pay Rate: $18-$24
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems in various industrial and commercial settings. This role requires experience working with steel, copper, PVC, and other materials, along with proficiency in reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and welding pipes.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, assemble, and repair piping systems according to specifications and blueprints.
Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using hand and power tools.
Inspect and test installed systems for leaks, pressure levels, and efficiency.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure proper installation.
Select appropriate piping materials and fittings for different applications.
Work with various metals and plastics, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and PVC.
Operate equipment such as grinders, saws, pipe threaders, and welding torches.
Ensure all installations meet safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on piping systems as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a pipe fitter, plumber, or related trade.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
Experience with welding, soldering, and brazing.
Familiarity with piping materials, tools, and installation techniques.
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift heavy pipes and equipment and work in various environments.
Knowledge of safety regulations and industry codes.
Certifications in pipe fitting or welding (preferred but not required).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting 50+ lbs regularly.
Working in tight or elevated spaces when required.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
