Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Staff pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapy, and provide drug information. Staff pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reviews, prepares, and dispenses medications according to accepted standards of practice.
• Actively participates in all clinical activities within the department and/or facility to include, but not be limited to: (1) Patient and/or staff education regarding medication(s) (2) Documented interventions within the real time clinical surveillance system as deemed appropriate
• Effectively manages departmental resources.
• Provides quality, patient-specific drug information and recommendations to health care workers and patients.
• Establishes measurable yearly goals and objectives.
