Overview Elmira College is a private liberal arts college located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. We are seeking a part-time Pep Band Director and Assistant Pep Band Director to lead and manage the Golden Groove Pep Band. Responsibilities Provide musical leadership, guiding the group in the selection of repertoire, assisting with rehearsals, and conducting as needed (when the student director is out or specific musical direction is needed). Collaborate with the student director and officers to support student leadership, recruitment, and band operations. Coordinate pep band performances at EC athletics events in partnership with the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance/Communication. Manage logistics such as scheduling, music library, equipment, and uniforms. Promote a positive, inclusive, and spirited environment for student musicians. Attend selected on-campus recruiting events. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in music or related field preferred. Experience directing or leading a pep band, marching band, or similar ensemble. Strong conducting, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work evenings and weekends for rehearsals, games, and events. Play one or more instruments is a plus.
