Job Description

A day in the life — Richmond, VA 23231

Step into a fast-paced outpatient setting where your calm presence keeps the clinic running smoothly. You’ll welcome patients, ready rooms, and capture vitals before partnering with providers for exams and minor procedures. Throughout the day, you’ll document carefully in the EHR, coordinate appointment flow, and ensure specimens and injections are handled precisely. Patients count on you for clear explanations; providers trust you for dependable, organized support.

What you’ll do

  • Support clinicians during examinations and office procedures, ensuring patients are prepared and comfortable.
  • Capture key clinical data: vital signs, medication histories, and symptoms; administer injections and collect lab specimens per protocol.
  • Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and ready between visits.
  • Enter and maintain accurate records in the electronic health record (EHR) and ensure documentation meets standards.
  • Coordinate scheduling and patient flow to keep the day on track.
  • Offer clear patient education, answering questions and reinforcing care instructions.
  • Handle front-office tasks including billing processes and insurance verification.
  • Uphold healthcare regulations and facility policies at all times.

What you bring

  • Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in healthcare is welcomed.
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first mindset.
  • Comfort working in a busy clinic with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and solid grasp of medical terminology and basic procedures.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including some evenings or weekends as needed.

Why you’ll thrive here

You’ll join a collaborative team that values reliability, empathy, and accuracy. If you’re passionate about delivering great care and enjoy balancing clinical and administrative tasks, this role in Richmond, VA 23231 is a strong fit.
