Title: Nutrition Assistant (Impact Leader II)
Work Schedule: Part-time - non-exempt. Generally scheduled up to 30 hours per week, Mondays - Friday, between 11:30 am and 6:00pm. Occasional late evening and weekend responsibilities (i.e., training and youth workshops).

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working under the direction of the Impact Director Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) the Nutrition Assistant Lead II supports the Nutrition Specialist in the implementation of BGCMC's COVID-19 policies and procedures as derived from the CDC, State of California and the Monterey County Health Department guidelines and best practices for childcare services as it pertains to the daily Meal Service. All policies and procedures will be enforced at all times with strict daily oversight from the Impact Director.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Package/prepare meals observing guidelines in the BGCMC Operations Manual for Youth Services which include: Staging meal components
Place nutrition components in grab & go bags as applicable
Assist with Club wide special events
Contribute to strategic planning and preparation of meals for after-hours events
Assist Nutrition Specialist with the completion of purchase orders
Maintain a safe and well-organized environment Ensure cleanliness and order
Empty trash, refer to CDC guidelines for trash/waste removal
Refer to Monterey County Health Department, Food Service safety protocols for dish washing, cleaning and sanitizing countertops, mopping floors, loading and unloading food and supplies.
Work collaboratively with the Nutrition Specialist to create monthly meal menus
Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the Community Room and Kitchen
Assist Nutrition Specialist with training and supervision of Summer interns
Assist with record-keeping and data collection for USDA funded Meal Programs
Provide youth a safe, positive environment- both physically and emotionally
Uphold high expectations for youth
Address youth behavior with a positive discipline approach that is fair, firm, consistent, and kind; helping youth take responsibility/accountability for their actions accompanied with appropriate consequences
Requirements
POSITIONS REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training (upon hire)
Cleaning and Disinfecting Training (upon hire)
BGCMC Food Service Training (upon hire)
CA Food Handler Certification (upon hire)

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a youth development professional in the Boys & Girls Club Movement
Bi-lingual English and Spanish
First Aid & CPR Certification
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 30 pounds;
Must be able to remain in a stationary position including standing at least 50% of the time.
COMPENSATION: Pay rate begins at $20.46 to $21.50 per hour and based on experience. Paid benefits package including accrual of up to 40 hours per year of paid vacation, 40 hours per year of paid sick leave, health insurance, Medical, Vision, Dental, Pension and 403(b) Plan Investment Options. This position is classified as non-exempt and as such is eligible for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
