Description:
Mission Driven Research (MDR) is looking for talented engineers to join our team and support NASA MSFC development and flight programs. Participate in a team environment to further develop capabilities of systems. Analyze complex data, arrive at logical conclusions, and make recommendations. Develop and review technical memorandums, white papers, and briefings supporting findings and conclusions of their analyses. Coordinate across disciplines for proper integration of systems. Develop and present technical briefings to senior leadership. Communicate effectively both written and orally. Support for development programs like Space Launch System, Human Landing System, or Mars Ascent Vehicle is expected, as well as some support to key capability development programs like Nuclear Propulsion and emerging propulsion technologies may also be required. Provide engineering expertise and develop engineering products related to their specific fields (Propulsion, GN&C, Loads, Structures).
Requirements: Loads and Structures Engineer: All experience levels welcome (5+ years experience preferred). BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (Mechanical Engineering preferred). Knowledge and application of Finite Element Analysis principles and development techniques. Specific experience in rocket, spacecraft, or spacecraft engine development preferred.
GN&C Engineer: All experience levels welcome (5+ years experience preferred). BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (Aerospace Engineering preferred). Knowledge and application of GN&C principles and development techniques. Specific experience in rocket or spacecraft GN&C development preferred.
Propulsion Engineer: At least 7+ years (12+ years preferred) propulsion-related experience. BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math. Knowledge and application of propulsion principles and development techniques. Specific experience in rocket propulsion preferred.
Desired Skills: Works independently, applying engineering rigor to analyze and resolve problems within a fast-paced, dynamic environment and MSFC organizational structure. Experience with Program Management. Ability to self-manage and initiate within team structure. Ability to decompose complex problems to actionable elements. Ability to work across organizational boundaries. Ability to present complex information and concepts to leaders at various levels. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of structures development preferred.
