The Seattle Division has an opening for a Meat Operations Specialist. This position will support stores in District 27 (Seattle Area). Position Purpose: Monitors, enforces, and supports execution of the division merchandising plan for their department in assigned stores. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: uf0b7 Travels to assigned stores working with the Department Manager and staff to share merchandising plans for departments to meet sales, gross and labor targets uf0b7 Works with and counsels department Managers and Store Directors in all aspects of product merchandising and customer service uf0b7 Visits stores and evaluates on overall department presentation, cleanliness and compliance to company policy and procedures uf0b7 Develops and maintains training programs that will ensure the availability of qualified associates to fill respective departmentsu2019 positions in the company uf0b7 Participates in departmental and divisional sales meetings uf0b7 Oversees departmental sales, labor and gross profit reporting from assigned stores uf0b7 Implements new merchandising programs and strategies and makes sure department staff is properly trained uf0b7 Monitors competitor activities uf0b7 Assists in opening new and remodeled stores uf0b7 Provides merchandising input back to Division Sales Managers and Assistant Sales Managers uf0b7 Measurers: Store level performance through department sales, gross profit and labor percent. uf0b7 Executes plans measured through store visits, reviewing results of plans, and observing store department conditions uf0b7 Determines success of training programs by reviewing and assessing evaluations uf0b7 Provide work guidance to store associates in areas such as product knowledge, sales and marketing techniques, understanding of profit and loss and compliance with company policies uf0b7 Trains department managers on the basics of the business and managing their department uf0b7 Provides input to Store Director on Store Department Manager evaluation Qualifications: The following are preferred: Education Level: uf0b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in business or related field and/or previous experience in merchandising of assigned product area and retail sales experience preferred. uf0b7 Graduate of the Retail Management Certificate Program preferred. Experience Level: uf0b7 Store Director, Assistant Store Director, or Department Manager experience. Skills and Experiences: uf0b7 Possess good written and verbal communication skills and deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the phone. uf0b7 Possess a marketing orientation, good analytical and problem-solving abilities. uf0b7 Possess math skills to complete straightforward analysis. uf0b7 Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate others without directly supervising. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: uf0b7 Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment uf0b7 Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal uf0b7 Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday uf0b7 Store visits involve regular standing, walking, climbing stairs and movement in and around machinery and hazardous equipment, as well as backstage receiving and production areas uf0b7 Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties uf0b7 Position may require some travel (up to 75%), including occasional weekend travel uf0b7 Workday is fast paced and stressful TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 75%+ of time is spent traveling. The salary range is $78,000 to $104,120 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k). Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus.
