We are seeking a motivated  Maintenance Engineering Intern to join our Maintenance Department. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants on key initiatives, including planning and coordinating maintenance tasks, ensuring both preventive and corrective activities are completed on schedule, and supporting data quality improvements in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). You will gain hands-on experience in managing technical documentation, assisting with project meetings, and helping to optimize maintenance processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1.Assist with Maintenance Planning

  • Support weekly and monthly maintenance planning activities.
  • Collaborate with consultants and internal teams to schedule preventive and corrective tasks.
  • Ensure resources, tools, and materials are identified and ready for scheduled maintenance work.

2.CMMS Data Management & Quality

  • Help maintain accurate and up-to-date asset and work order information in the CMMS.
  • Validate data inputs for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve how people use the CMMS for better operator reporting (e.g., fichar del operador).

3.Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Participate in meetings with consultants to review ongoing and future maintenance projects.
  • Document outcomes of project-related discussions, action items, and assigned responsibilities.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to maintenance workflows.

4.Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

  • Assist with tracking the status and completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Analyze work order history and maintenance records to identify potential improvements.
  • Assist in creating and updating preventive maintenance checklists and schedules.

5.Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Production, Quality, Safety) to ensure alignment on maintenance activities.
  • Provide updates on project progress, potential issues, and recommendations to the Maintenance Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports or summaries of ongoing maintenance projects.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance procedures and equipment.
  • Familiarity with CMMS or other maintenance software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
