Job Description

Landscape Designer Location: Michigan (Oakland & Genesee County area) Job Summary: Our Client is seeking an experienced and creative Landscape Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape architecture and design, with a passion for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces. This role requires someone who can listen to clients, understand their vision, and transform ideas into well-planned, award-worthy designs. Key Responsibilities: Meet with clients to understand their landscape design needs, preferences, and project goals. Develop innovative, functional, and visually stunning landscape designs that align with client expectations. Create detailed landscape plans, including site layouts, plant selections, and hardscape elements. Utilize design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) to produce high-quality renderings and blueprints. Collaborate with sales, project managers, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution. Stay current with industry trends, sustainable landscaping practices, and emerging design techniques. Present design concepts to clients, make revisions as needed, and guide them through the selection process. Provide consulting services to ensure proper plant selection, drainage solutions, and long-term maintenance planning. Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and clients to uphold quality and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or a related field (preferred). Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape design, with a portfolio showcasing residential and/or commercial projects. Award-winning or recognized design experience is a plus (MNLA, MDLA, or similar). Strong knowledge of plants, hardscapes, and outdoor living space design. Excellent communication and client relationship skills, with the ability to translate client ideas into practical designs. Proficiency in landscape design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or equivalent). Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with teams. Passion for creating beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces that enhance both function and curb appeal.
