Job Description

Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking an initiative-taking and experienced Junior Tester to join our team. We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented entry-level testers to join our team. As a Junior Tester, you will be responsible for supporting our software quality assurance processes through manual testing efforts. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to start their career in software testing.

Job Responsibilities

As a Junior Tester, you will:

  • Execute manual test cases based on functional specifications and project requirements.

  • Document test results accurately and report any defects or issues found during the testing process.

  • Collaborate with senior testers and development teams to understand testing requirements and contribute to test planning sessions.

  • Review and update test cases to reflect changes in application functionality or business requirements.

  • Participate in testing of various application types, including web, mobile, and desktop applications.

  • Assist in setting up and maintaining test environments as needed for testing activities.

  • Learn and apply software testing best practices, methodologies, and standards.

  • Provide feedback to the development team to ensure the quality and usability of applications.

  • Attend team meetings and status updates, providing insights on testing progress and challenges.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent coursework).

  • Solid attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies.

  • Basic knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing concepts.

Additional Qualifications

  • Prior internship or project experience in software testing is a plus but not required.

  • Familiarity with any defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) is a bonus.

  • Basic understanding of different types of testing (e.g., functional, regression, smoke testing).

  • Good communication and team building skills.

  • Strong test writing skills.

This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
