Job Description

The scope of the proposed services will include the following:

• Meet with staff to determine the scope of a project
  
• Advise on strategies to reach a particular audience
  
• Determine the message the design should portray
  
• Create images that identify a product or convey a message
  
• Develop graphics for logos and websites
  
• Select colors images text style and layout
  
• Present the design to customer
  
• Incorporate changes recommended by the customer into the final design
  
• Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them
  
• Ensure that coding standards are met; optimizing the web architectures for navigability and accessibility
  
• Utilize specialized graphic design software to prepare design
  

Requirements

Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory: (if applicable)

• Bachelor s degree
  
• Experience in software development or 2 years of experience in graphic design
  
• Experience effectively executing against brand guidelines and maintaining brand standards including demonstrating considered layout image composition typography and color palette
  
• Experience designing externally facing information and graphics in a visually appealing way
  
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign and animation)
  
• Available to work from Baton Rouge LA on a regular basis
  

Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory:

• Ability to effectively edit and augment written and visual elements of program content
  
• Experience translating technical concepts into straightforward visual designs
  
• Experience aligning web development applications with technical programming
  
• Familiarity with Craft CMS architecture
  
• Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  
• UX/UI Design competencies
  
• Application of specialized skills within a government agency environment
