Job Summary:

The Graphic Artist/Illustrator will be responsible for creating high-quality visual materials, including concept renderings, technical illustrations, and graphic designs, to support scientific and engineering customers. This position requires expertise in a variety of traditional and digital art media, exceptional design skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into visually compelling outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed concept renderings, technical illustrations, and graphic designs using both traditional and digital tools.
• Select and work with a variety of art media, including pen and ink, acrylics, oils, watercolors, Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Painter, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Collaborate with engineering and scientific teams to understand and depict technical concepts accurately.
• Design layouts and compositions that effectively communicate technical and non-technical information.
• Operate and maintain graphics-related hardware, including scanners, tablets, large-format printers, photo printers, and color copiers.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
• Prepare and submit project deliverables in various formats, including print and digital media.

Education:

Associate degree or equivalent education in Fine Arts or Commercial Arts.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of full-time work experience in graphic arts and technical illustration.
• Demonstrated experience in producing artist concept renderings, technical illustrations, and graphic designs.
• Proven ability to use traditional and digital art media effectively.

Certifications:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant digital art tools is highly desirable.

Additional certifications in graphic design or technical illustration are a plus.

Clearance Requirement:

SECRET level DoD security clearance is required for this position.

Work Conditions:

Standard office environment with occasional use of graphics-related equipment and tools.

May involve extended periods of computer-based design work.
