Job Description

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (not Electrical Engineering Technology).
  • 15+ years of experience in leading the development of complex electromechanical assemblies involving integration of mechanical and electronic hardware, software, firmware, and FPGA logics.
  • Extensive experience with PCB design and packaging for low voltage/ lower power electronic applications (below 500 watts).
  • Proficiency in both analog and digital design challenges.
  • Thorough working knowledge of electronic hardware design tools, processes, and industry best practices (e.g., Vivado, Verilog, HDLC).
  • Extensive experience designing EMI/EMC compliance electronics systems
  • Ability to quickly understand, critique, and suggest value-added improvements to other engineers' designs.

Plusses:

Day to Day:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Leader with a strong background in Electrical or Electronics Engineering to join our team. This individual contributor role involves guiding and participating in design projects involving electronic hardware, ensuring technical risks are appropriately assessed and mitigated. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction in electronics hardware technology and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design Reviews (1/3 of the time):
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Quickly understand, critique, and suggest value-added improvements to other engineers' designs.
  1. Collaboration with Systems Team (1/3 of the time):
  • Work closely with the systems team to determine the fastest and most effective solutions and requirements for optimal design outcomes.
  • Partner with principal and consultant/senior-level engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems and hardware.
  1. Innovation and Technology Integration (1/3 of the time):
  • Develop new designs and technologies, integrating them into the product development cycle.
  • Evaluate existing designs and define the next generation of technology for our development cycle.

  • Design and Development: Lead the development of complex electromechanical assemblies, integrating mechanical and electronic hardware, software, firmware, and FPGA logics.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide strategic direction and technical guidance, leveraging over 20 years of experience in the field.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and success in overcoming steep technological challenges.
  • Analog and Digital Design: Address both analog and digital design challenges with expertise.
  • Industry Best Practices: Apply thorough working knowledge of electronic hardware design tools, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Product Development Lifecycle: Understand and manage deliverables required throughout a structured product development lifecycle.
  • Team Collaboration: Work enthusiastically as a team player with a flexible approach, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide technical teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Technical Decision-Making: Make all technical decisions for the team, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.
