Job Title: ETL/DataStage Developer
Location: McLean Virginia / Plano, TX onsite role

Supplier Vetting Questions:
1. How long have you worked on DataStage, DB2, SQL, UNIX, and Control-M and in what capacity?
2. Can you explain how you approach designing and implementing an ETL workflow using DataStage, DB2, SQL, UNIX, and Control-M?
3. Have you automated any ETL or batch processes using Unix or a python script? if so, explain.
4. Describe a time when you had to adapt your technical approach to meet changing business requirements. How did you ensure your DataStage workflows, SQL queries, and Control-M schedules stayed aligned with business objectives?
Position Overview
Client has an exciting opportunity for a Development, Prf to work in the Enterprise BTO department of the Information Technology division. We are seeking a motivated individual to design and develop enhancements to software applications on a DataStage ETL (11.x). As a member of the IT development team, the Individual would implement software changes and address data related issues. The individual would champion technology and tools changes/improvements that improve delivery processes. Work collaboratively with other open minded, technology savvy and dedicated agile team members.
Responsibilities
• Develop effective solutions to new and existing data reporting requirements and data issues primarily using DataStage.
• Perform root cause analysis and address existing issues.
• Find gaps in the existing processes, constantly improve the processes/procedures, automate manual tasks and provide stability to the applications.
• Participate in analysis of agile user stories; participate in and develop solution based on business requirements and architecture, prototype if necessary, unit test and deploy quality solutions.
• Perform analysis and make code changes to the DataStage ETL and Unix jobs.
• Support applications in production.
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent working experience
• At least 3-4 years of experience in DataStage (ETL) preferably 11.7, UNIX, shell scripting, Control-M and db2/Sybase/Oracle SQL, Jira, Bitbucket skills.
• Strong analytical and development skills required to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions.
• Team player with positive attitude.
• Innovative in providing solutions and likes to take on challenges with calculated risks.
• Strive to constantly improve the application development processes and tools.
• Experience in all aspects of system development life cycle methodologies including agile development
• Quick learner of new technologies and tools.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management on both the business and IT sides.

• Working experience in Java, SAS
