Job Description: Electrical Engineer (100% remote! Occasional travel)
This is a 100% remote position. The Electrical Engineer will serve as the lead SME EE for the company, conducting studies,
consulting on capital projects , and assisting with troubleshooting electrical issues at various plants (More than 480V). The candidate will work directly with office personnel, plant personnel, project managers, and other disciplines to develop and modify electrical designs. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer will perform calculations, create/modify drawings, write scopes of work, coordinate with outside contractors and vendors, and make visits to plants as needed.
Responsibilities - Top Skills - Arc Flash (short circuit analysis), Electrical troubleshooting on Equipment >480V and up to 16kV, and Capital Project Design and Management with multi-disciplinaries' involved.
- Design and/or specify equipment and processes.
- Provide technical input for engineering design.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and plans.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Work as a key part of a project team to meet project objectives.
- Ensure compatibility with plant equipment and procedures.
- Develop project scope and mentor less experienced engineers/designers.
- Adhere to company safety values and practices in all designs and plant modifications.
- Lead and provide technical input to 3rd party engineering design firms to maintain company standards of quality, safety, and scope adherence.
- Utilize department resources, experience, and existing engineering designs in assignments.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to manufacturing plants.
- Meet discipline’s commitments regarding schedule and budget.
- Contribute labor and material quantities for capital project cost estimates.
Essential Skills - Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical design, including in-field construction experience
- Proficiency with SKM Tools
- Experience with electrical studies
- Electric design for CAPEX projects
- Proficient in electrical CAD design (AutoCAD, Draftsight)
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Ability to supervise engineers
- Willingness to travel 20% of the time
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $65.00/hr.
