The Job

The Field Sales Manager (FSM) is responsible for developing, managing and executing sales strategies that drive profitable market share growth with the sales region to align with company objectives and region-specific objectives. Their overall goal is to coach, develop and train sales team members to acquire new business, acquire growth within existing customer base, and successfully hit sales targets.

What you will do…

• Coach and develop a team of 5-6 territory managers.
• Assist with the development of strategic sales plans, prioritize coaching & performance management efforts to have the greatest overall impact on business results.
• Partner with Sales Directors and HRM on aligning new hire’s onboarding and training plan, implement changes and trainings that allow new hires and team to be successful.
• Proactively inspects sales activity and effort among sales associates managed, ensuring that the quality and quantity of sales effort meets company expectations.
• Identifies deficiencies in skills among sales associates managed, and works to improve individuals’ capabilities through coaching, development, and training.
• Work collaboratively with Merchandising & Sales Directors team on identifying successful trainings topics for weekly trainings as needed
• Help deliver annual sales & profit objectives by coaching and developing TM’s to create a strategic sales plan that will increase the Emery Jensen Distribution customer base
• Recruits, hires, and develops associates, utilizing company HR guidelines and resources.
• Displays sound judgement in relation to expenses (travel and entertainment, car, etc.)

What you need to succeed…

• 3-5 years B2B sales management experience
• Four-year college degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Detail-oriented and extremely organized self-started who is able to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
• Focused on developing sales team’s capability to uncover opportunities and develop solutions based on customers' needs.
• Strategic thinking abilities with an emphasis on developing a sales growth plan and the ability to ensure implementation
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities autonomously, influence and present persuasively to internal and external stakeholders.
• Builds peer support & strong internal-company relationships with key management personnel
• Sales Force CRM preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Up to 50% travel including overnights
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to sit in a car for a long duration, stand, climb a ladder and lift at least 50 pounds
• Preferred residence in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia or Harrisburg metro areas.
• $87,000 – $112,000 + 15% incentive
