The Opportunity:

The Director of Education is responsible for overseeing the Dr. Barbara Sturm Education department, adapting and implementing education programs & operations in the North America market. This dynamic role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the brand’s success in a highly competitive luxury beauty market, including implementing successful training programs and enhancing our consumer service offerings. This role will require close partnership with the UK-based Global team as well as local cross functional teams to develop new concepts and initiatives for the local market.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, passionate about skincare, a content wizard and highly skilled at coaching, team management and leadership. They will need to drive a culture of collaboration, communication and respect, thrive in a retailer environment, and possess a solution-oriented attitude. Facilitation experience in classroom and virtual environments, self-motivation and engaging public speaking abilities are critical.

What you’ll get to do:

Education

  • Partner closely with Global and NA Regional Sales Teams to align trainings and events towards business and brand objectives for the North America market
  • Create and execute Education-related protocols, tools and materials to drive client loyalty & retail sales
  • Manage the operational effectiveness of educational programs in alignment with marketing strategies, ensuring market growth
  • Drive Education department’s creative projects, including program and class collateral, class formats, as well as relevant video and digital educational assets for NA retailers
  • Establishes and maintains comprehensive information system on all Education materials relating to product knowledge, sales techniques, promotion programs, and system/procedural requirements

Training

  • Guide and teach Field Sales Teams in clienteling, link-selling, outreach, sell-through and special events to build NA business
  • Plan, coordinate and execute advanced seasonal training seminars for retailer beauty specialists, beauty advisors, and corporate teams
  • Create a framework for training within the local US & Canada markets, implementing new and existing training tools
  • Evaluate and modify training content to meet business needs, maintaining training budget and materials inventory
  • Build on-the-job education at counters through face-to-face coaching sessions that reinforce seasonal training objectives
  • Plan, allocate, and manage products, collateral, and equipment for ongoing trainings and events

Events

  • Partner with Marketing and Sales teams on promotion campaigns, identifying event opportunities, and product needs to achieve business goals
  • Position collaborates with US Marketing on the development of concepts for services, collateral, techniques and classes to support launches
  • Assess event prospects/opportunities to determine the best strategy and appropriate level of support
  • Demonstrate expertise in the use of store experience resources and evangelize events as a tool to drive store business initiatives
  • Evaluates Special Events and reports recommendations/issues to Account Executives

We’d love to meet you if you have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the USA field and/or industry
  • Aesthetician license required
  • Strong leadership: sets high workplace standards, values, and expectations while providing clear direction and priorities
  • Responsible for curriculum strategy, team performance objectives, and clear communication
  • Skilled in organizing, designing, and delivering market trainings from brief to execution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to customize presentations and integrate videos
  • Strong presentation, coaching, and public speaking skills, including experience at large-scale events
  • Knowledge of digital education and expertise in skincare, makeup, fragrance, and luxury/prestige brands
  • Minimum 20% travel required

As required by New York City salary transparency law, effective November 2022, the expected base salary for this position ranges from $140,000.00- $150,000.00. Various factors are considered when extending offers, such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
