Job Description Oregon Episcopal School is about to launch an exciting and ambitious strategic plan to guide its mission and focus into the future. The School is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer to lead the work of the Advancement Office in supporting the strategic goals that will support this vision. As a seasoned, strategic, and relation-driven advancement leader, the Chief Advancement Officer will build on recognized strengths to amplify a best-in-class program, nurture and lead a strong culture of philanthropy, and ensure that OES is equal to the aspirations of its students and faculty. The ideal candidate will have proven success in building and leading high performing teams capable of raising significant unrestricted and restricted funds; experience in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual, major, and planned gifts; expertise in developing robust alumni programming that leads to both engagement and giving; strong interpersonal skills - visionary, yet humble; the ability to connect and engage effectively across a diverse constituency; and a willingness to serve as a fundraising coach and partner closely with the Head of School, Senior Leadership Team, and the Board of Trustees. Job Requirements The Chief Advancement Officer envisions and implements a comprehensive fundraising strategy for OES through strategic, innovative, and collaborative efforts. This individual is an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Head of School and with a fully staffed team of six, the CAO is responsible for providing leadership and vision to the creation of short- and long-term fundraising goals that will enhance the culture of philanthropy and broaden and sustain a community of support whose collective investments enable possibilities. The CAO will develop and grow strong relationships both internally and externally, demonstrate a strong track record of fundraising success; have a deep understanding – and appreciation – for each phase of the donor cycle; approach the work with a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens (DEI); and will inspire and build an advancement program that enables the School to elevate its aspirations for both its students and future. The CAO will serve as a strategic thought partner to the Head, Board of Trustees, and Senior Leadership Team, be an inspirational storyteller, and a visible and active member of the OES community. Carrying a portfolio comprised of major and principal level prospects, the CAO will strengthen giving across the operation including annual, major, capital, and planned giving support to ensure that OES’s constituents are provided with the opportunity to make a difference across an array of priorities.
