Catering Sales Manager needed in Ventura (in-office)

A beautiful leading hotel in Ventura is seeking a permanent Catering Sales Manager!

This is a great career opportunity with growth potential!

Pay range is $70k - $75k plus commission bonus plan.

Summary:

To creatively up-sell all hotel customers and to ensure that value paid is value received, not only in product, but in service and in ambiance.

Responsibilities:

· Solicitation of direct selling in the local, social Catering/Conference market.

· Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, as well as organize other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events.

· Provide conference services for day meetings with 10 or more people.

· Maximize banquet, and catering revenues, and meet department revenue goals.

· Meeting with the client for a daily debrief recap with Mtg Planner at 5pm, after the last function of the day.

· Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings.

· Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts.

· Communication with clients prior to events to initiate, negotiates, and closes contracts for all catered functions.

· Creation of profitable menus and distribution of client expectations to Food & Beverage Departments.

· Coordinate event support services (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, etc.) to provide complete client satisfaction.

· Physically double-check all function arrangements against specifications of client. Correct where necessary. Make sure all BEOs are signed by clients prior to the events.

· Research and cost out new menu items and create new menus working with the F & B team.

· Timeliness of contract and effective communication with clients to ensure repeat bookings.

· Maximize revenues for the hotel through up-selling techniques.

· Submit weekly report to DOSM.

· Report to DOSM

· Participate in trade shows.

· Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.

· Meet sales prospecting call, site inspection, and sales call goals.

· Complete monthly tacticals assigned to each catering sales manager.

· Participate in Chamber of Commerce events.

· Follow rules of PHP employee handbook.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Two to four years of sale or related experience.
