Obstetrician/Gynecologist Hospitalist

As an Obstetrician/Gynecologist Hospitalist in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Alameda Health System (AHS), you will have the opportunity to:

  • Make a significant contribution to a critical service for women and their families in this safety net health system;
  • Improve, iterate, and innovate on our maternity care and gynecologic services at Highland Hospital and our outpatient clinics;
  • Practice obstetrics and gynecology in a collaborative, supportive setting;
  • Contribute to our broader team of passionate women’s health experts in designating Alameda Health System as a leader in equitable, just, high value reproductive healthcare.

If you are a compassionate Obstetrician/Gynecologist who is eager to practice obstetrics and gynecology in a collaborative, supportive setting providing healthcare services for vulnerable populations, you will be at home in our department.

Description:

This is (up to) a 1.0 FTE position in our Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, exact FTE to be negotiated. This role will report to the Department Chair.

Responsibilities:

  • This role may also participate in GYN service attending weeks as well as home-based night and emergency backup on par with the physicians in our department.
  • Although the templated schedule for this role will adhere closely to the hours corresponding to the FTE allotted, as a member within this department, this individual may be called upon to contribute to service coverage needs to ensure patient safety, in line with all physicians in the department. This may mean that weekly hours may at times exceed allotted FTE, and this individual would be compensated for those hours per departmental standards (billed as extra hours)
  • An initial schedule will be put forth and can be reviewed and amended at the next quarter start to ensure that it is meeting the clinical requirements of the department as well as this individual.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following competencies critical to this role:

  • Mission-driven: Committed to access, equity, and justice as it relates to providing excellent women’s health care to the community of patients that AHS serves
  • Flexibility: Embraces change, welcomes feedback, and engages in debate towards attaining the best possible result
  • Collaboration: Maintains positive working relationships with those around her, from staff to other providers, in a way that fosters inspiration and trust
  • Lifelong learning: Humble and curious in continuing to develop as a clinician and team member.
