Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $21.06 - $31.63/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Job Description The Cox Enterprises Flight Operation's Pilot Internship is a comprehensive internship that will expose selected candidates to every facet of a modern-day corporate flight department. The intern will receive on the job training from individual sub-groups as needed within the department. The internship is designed to leave the candidate with experiences across the entire flight department spectrum. The pilot intern will report directly to a line pilot as assigned by the Chief Pilot. Duties and responsibilities will vary on a day to day basis depending on the needs of the department and their sub-groups.
Pilot Related Duties:
•Jump Seating on approved flights
•Assisting Flight Crews with Pre-Flight, Enroute and Post-Flight Activities
•Filling out Flight Log Data
•Loading and Unloading Passenger Baggage
•Leading Pre-Flight and Post-Flight Briefings
•Assisting Passengers to and from the aircraft
Dispatch Related Duties:
•Assisting the Head Dispatcher as needed
•Dispatching Trips
•Flight Planning Trips
•Entering Flight Log Data
•Arranging Catering
•Rental Car Arrangements
•Answering Phones as needed
•Manning the front desk and screening incoming vehicles to the corporate facility
•Tracking and assisting flights
Ground Support Related Duties:
•Cleaning and Stocking Aircraft
•Tugging Aircraft
•Aircraft Fueling
•FMS Database Updates
•Waste and Water Management System Service
•Food and Beverage Stock Management
Qualifications Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent-required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.•
- 3.0 Minimum GPA in College/Graduate School
- College Level Junior or rising Senior preferred, but not required
- Must possess a minimum of a Private Pilot's Certificate with an Instrument Rating
- Pilot background (pursuing a degree in the aviation field)-Corporate pilot career track preferred, but not required
- Ability to effectively handle a constantly changing environment

Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
