Armed Security Guard (Full-Time)

IDS International is looking for a full-time Armed Security Guard to support our contract overseeing the Truman Presidential Library in Independence Missouri and will report to our Program Manager.

32 Hours/week

Night shift

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high level of visibility at all times and surveil visitors in the Library and Museum for suspicious activities.
• Patrol the interior and exterior of the facility as well as monitor a closed-circuit television feed to prevent unauthorized access and limit other incidents.
• Secure and monitor access points during hours of operation search bags as needed and monitor visitors throughout the facility.
• Guards will register guests into the research room and ensure rules and protocols are followed.
• When required detain violators and prepare detailed incident reports.
• Attend and provide security during special events and VIP visits involving high profile government officials.

Required Qualifications:

• Be a citizen of the United States AND be at least 21 years of age
• Have the ability to pass all pre-employment physicals and testing as the job requires standing for extended periods of time
• Received a minimum high school diploma or GED
• Three years of military security or law enforcement experience within the last 5 years
• Applicants should be proficient with firearms and pass a firearms qualification course
• Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight typically less than 20 pounds but may vary depending on the position. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
