HDR is looking for a Summer 2024 Architectural intern candidate to work in San Francisco, CA. The successful candidate will work on a new hospital tower in San Francisco.
As an Architectural intern at HDR, you will work with a team of licensed architects and architects in-training, on different project types and with diverse professionals. Our goal will be to engage you in various facets of our work so that you will gain a better understanding of how your coursework is applied in real-world settings and inspire you to engage in a career in architecture work upon graduation.
What you will do
Participate in integrated design and construction process with other disciplines at client site.
Receive hands-on learning by collaborating with designers, consultants and engineers in a big room setting.
Work within Revit to produce design documentation.
Work on a complex design in a large city.
Help communicate visually in a cross disciplinary way to solve complex problems
Primary Responsibilities
Offer real-world experience on exciting projects
Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
Perform assignments under the direct supervision of an Architect, Project Manager, or other professionals
Participate in the architectural design process, and develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics used to communicate concepts to client or for agency approval
Follow through on design development drawings and models, and collaborate with production staff for technical details and completion of construction drawings
Participate in integrated design process with other disciplines at client site
Receive hands-on learning by collaborating with designers, consultants, and engineers in a big room setting
Work within Revit to produce design documentation
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
Proficiency and Knowledge of Revit
Working knowledge of PDF editing tools such as Bluebeam or Adobe
Interest or experience in healthcare design
Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
Attention to detail
Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
Basic Microsoft Office skills
