About the job

Lighting Workshop is seeking a Lighting Designer to join our team. The candidate is ideally well-rounded in both creative design sensibilities and technical skills, applying their knowledge on a variety of project types during all phases from schematic design through construction administration. 

We are an award winning architectural lighting design firm based in a sun-filled loft studio in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Responsibilities:

  • You will take part in designing, developing, managing, and documenting a variety of project types
  • Support the firm project design process with prodigious design solutions, project imagery, research, and documentation
  • Effectively convey conceptual design solutions to clients and colleagues through graphic design renderings

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to work well both individually and in a collaborative studio environment
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be proficient in communication of design ideas through graphic renderings

Required

  • At least 2 years of Architectural Lighting Design experience. Please include a resume and portfolio along with your application
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, familiarity with AGI32
  • Basic understanding of architectural practices, design protocols and methods
  • Bachelor's Degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, or related is preferred

Recommended:

  • LEED Certified or have a basic understanding of green design methods

Location:

  • The candidate must be able to commute to Brooklyn, NY.
  • Note the office enjoys a flexible hybrid work model with a mix of in-person and remote work each week.
